- Phil Esposito was one of
- hockeyΓÇÖs greatest centers.
- In 1970, his scoring
- helped the Boston Bruins
- win their first Stanley Cup
- in 26 years. Phil and the Bruins won it again
- in 1972. With Bobby Orr backing up Phil on
- defense, the Bruins became a NHL
- powerhouse.

- At 6' 1" and 205 pounds, Phil was famous for
- planting himself in front of the net, eager to
- take a pass, nab a rebound, or deflect a shot
- for a goal. In his more than eight seasons
- with the Bruins, Phil won five scoring
- championships. He scored more than 50
- goals five times. He was the first player to
- score more than 70 goals and to tally
- more than 100 points in a season.
